House on the lake that occupies the border between land and water
This house on Lake Washington deals the border between land and water. The young family lives here, so they have renovated their home to give space for the contemporary lifestyle. They kept the good things like the friendly and relaxed scale beach cabin feel, but added a new grade 400 square feet and 1,000 square feet on the second floor. This gave them more light rooms with the inner skin of cedar and glass that confer warmth and transparency. More glass and wood steel protective shell that can withstand winter storms and climate at the edge of the wet lake. [Johnston Architects]
