Ultra-Minimalist House With 'Living Behind The Walls' Concept
The historic center of Ferragudo, Portugal, is a highly sensitive area to work and Ultramarino | Marlene Uldschmidt Architects decided that a house here would look harmonious if it incorporates the surrounding architecture. Casa 103 is a concept of life behind the walls, and his first challenge was to create a facade that would be a physical barrier between the public and private spaces while enhancing the visual connection with the village and the river. The second problem was to create a light and airy feeling inside the building. Architects created a vertical skylight that connects all levels to achieve this goal. The interior is ultra-minimalist - white with black chocolate and minimum floors of furniture and other objects
