Indian House with extensive use of concrete and wood recovered
This beautiful space in the seaside village of La Dune is the ecological retreat weekend Niels and his wife Malavika Shivakumar designed for themselves and their children a respite from the noise of city life in Pondicherry, South India. The house is modern and chic: lots of concrete used both inside and outside; inside the concrete is just polished to a chic industrial feel. Inside you can see an extensive use of reclaimed wood of various types, which gives the interior a character keeping environmentally. I like the contrast between wood and concrete dark, and as colorful textiles local craftsmen who add coloring.
