Converted barn in Contemporary Home With a pool
This house in the countryside is converted from a barn. The idea of the renovation was to create a house that sat naturally into the landscape seems to be traditional farm building and was comfortable enough living space for the contemporary lifestyle. Two new wings and a swimming pool were added. The building of the main barn into a single open space with 9 meter high oak is ceiling mounted. Lots of wood in this area and a large contemporary fireplace give a warm feeling to it. All buildings have a fairly simple material pallet: Cotswold stone floors, oak floors, beams, doors and ceilings and white painted stucco. The energy to run the floor heating is created by geothermal heat pumps buried in adjacent lands.
