Unique Urban Living Room House Germany
How can we breathe new possibilities in modern architecture ?? was the question of the German duo of architects Gabriela Seifert and Götz Stöckmann of Formalhaut posed when designing their new home. The House Lounge in Gelnhausen, Germany is probably the main attraction City ?, with its contemporary white facade window dressed juxtaposed against the neighborhood? S surrounding traditional houses.
Clad with a coated skin aluminum powder, the house is pierced by 52 windows located in a checkerboard pattern. The interior elements beyond traditional boundaries: you are greeted by a rocky ground floor landscape, as if the house has grown around it; suspended in space above the living area, blockages of a room in a drawer that can be opened on the street for alfresco sleep; a sound installation by artist Achim Wollscheid, allows to electronically manipulate the sounds from outside and turn them into ambient noise.
