Rustic Passive House, Barn And Sauna Tour Composed
Architecture and interiors company BarlisWedlick created this eclectic compound designed to suit a client with an idiosyncratic wish list. The main house is built from structural insulated panels and coated charred cedar. Connected to the main house by a narrow bridge, a cedar three-storey tower with a sauna at its base recalls a tree house. Although the house is a private sanctuary, the barn is a gathering place, especially in summer. On the lower level, a studio reminds the main house with its windows oriented to maximize solar gain. The interiors are a mix of rustic styles and mid-century modern, with lots of reclaimed wood and wooden beams for comfort.
