Restoring Victorian Farm House in a foster home
Furzey Hall Farm is a single family home for artist Jake Chapman. It is a restoration of the Victorian farmhouse that is done by Waugh Thistleton Architects. The expansive house was divided into several distinct areas to meet the different uses of a modern family. Sleek modern extensions on each side of the farm provide accommodation and a kitchen and dining room open. The main barn has been retained as a traditional open space, offering a large living room and master suite. Although the house still retains the traditional look of the living country which is very important in this kind of projects. Of course, modern elements are also important and there are a lot of them too. As you can see, it's really great when a traditional farmhouse and the barn is successfully combined with modern elements.
