This house on a calm river, deep mountain is designed to be connected to this landscape. It is divided into two wings, with the hole shaped terrace between the two for connecting the timber to the back of the house with woods on the opposite bank. There are many artificial ponds that are filled with lotus beside the house. The walls are created to be light enough that the wind sweep but stone. The combination of these walls, large windows, water and lotus are almost all places in the house quiet, relaxing and connected to nature in contemporary life. [Kengu Kuma]
