A modular furniture collection inspired by the orthoquartzite Rock
Anna Bera is a Polish designer who created the Whole Elements , a design studio and a woodworking shop. It was with this studio that created the Earth Stone Wood collection, a series of modular furniture inspired by ancient beliefs and emphasized modern design. She has also recently exhibited at Wanted Design.
multi-faceted design of the collection was inspired by orthoquartzite rocks used in spiritual beliefs / rituals by the ancient Slavs and found in the Holy Cross mountains, the oldest mountains in Europe. Bera handmade collection from solid cherry wood and fir wood recycled using a combustion technique of traditional Japanese wood to create the charred wood, or shou sugi ban wood. Each piece can be combined to form a single modular creation (eg a cabinet) or be used alone as a table, seat, or the singular storage unit
this collection Bera aims to highlight the tangible structure orthoquartzite rock and intangible powers, including history, hidden order and mutability.
