Traditional welcome with touches of vintage
Modifying a library in a private home is a solution very interesting but the designers of this house in Portland certainly succeeded. Given the history of the building, its architecture and internal distribution were a bit unusual for a house. The designers decided to keep most of the original elements: they kept the large open space and decided to turn into a large room with kitchen, dining area and living. They also added some new elements such as a sauna, a laundry room, an exercise room, a garage and a recording studio in the basement. The style is mostly traditional with period touches, but because of the combination of black and white, it looks so modern! I love
