Terraced Townhouse renovation that combines vintage with modern
If you saw the movie Bruges with Colin Farrell you might already know this little town in Belgium. If not, then you should know that Bruges is a very old city with many old buildings. This little house is one of them, but it was recently renovated by architects 51N4E. The house is located in the historic center of Briges and it was a shop before the renovation. The double-height space, entirely covered with wooden planks, begins like a bow which gradually raises asymmetrically rearward, framing the large tree in a neighboring garden. The old house is completely renovated with part of new flooring and new color schemes for facades, walls and ceilings. Custom kitchen furniture with built fireplace doubles as a work area, to become the new center of the house. The house has a winter garden well lit. Its interior is an excellent example of the vintage and modern styles so costs could be mixed.
