Single Storey Black & White House - Whitford House by Sumich Architects
The Whitford House is located on a plot of 2 hectares overlooking the Inlet Mangemangeroa stream. It consists of a series of pavilions connected on one level. The lodges have taken the form of single gear and were linked by flat roof structures progressing to the main form of pinion housing areas kitchen / dining / family with the platform of the pool beyond. There are many natural home in the house with a large glazing. The entrance is through a formally landscaped courtyard that acts as a buffer to the surrounding countryside. Thank you to the structure of the pavilion there are several other courses around the house that have different purposes and views. The materials that were used during the construction of the house are plaster cladding, aluminum carpentry and roofing board, all finished in a composition 'Black and White' simply sit against a green backdrop countries.
