Monochrome Scandinavian Attic apartment in Paris
This attic apartment has been divided into two floors sepaarting public and private space
What was once the old manor of Paris star Josephine Baker is now home to the architect François Pélegrin, his wife Evelyn and family. Renovated with care, they left intact as much of the original architecture as possible, focusing on making energy efficiency. Now established as a duplex, François works from his office on the ground floor, as he and his family live in the charming attic you see here.
I really like the modern look of this loft space! The apartment is done in black and white, the floors are bleached with lime wood, texture and cool. The attic is framed as a whole separate floor, with a glass wall and stairs. The large wooden beams were left here and whitewashed to make them more invisible and not to interfere with the overall decor, but they still add style.
There is a kitchen, a dining room and a living room on the lower floor, all decorated in a cozy Scandinavian style. Smooth surfaces and monochrome colors are softened with the help of textures and fabrics such as faux sheepskins on the chairs and carpets. The dining area is to get the best view from the attic windows
The upper floor contains a bedroom and a bathroom -. These spaces that need a little privacy. The room decor is softened with cabinets along the wall, a dressing table and bedside one, each made of the same light color natural wood and a large fresh carpet faux sheepskin. Whitewashed brick clad gives a certain charm and character to the room.
There is also a lovely terrace, the decor of which continues the interior. The palette of black and white colors and a weathered wooden deck look very cool together. Various greenery and potted flowers enliven this outdoor space
The remaining wooden beams were whiwashed to make them more invisible because they are quite large and thick
