Glam Art Deco Apartment in Muted Colors
The glam art deco salon boasts a Swarovski crystal chandelier window, the floor ceilings that let in light and furniture fur covers for a touch of glam
This incredibly glamorous apartment in the city center only skyscraper art deco Africa the wife love of fashion owners, art, history, Bauhaus and public spaces to dramatic effect. It is a space full of extraordinarily beautiful things that belongs to the city as the family who lived here for almost ten years.
Originally an office building, the 1939 building was the first in the city to be converted into residential spaces. This apartment is bright, double volume space of 0 square meters which is the part of the railway station and a Bauhaus party movie together. Under severe architecture, designer and owner of the building Laureen Rossouw has kept domestic underestimated and the palette muted, then introduced eccentricity moments of humor. A wide range of honey-colored wood floors welcome you as you walk through the double front doors with their school hall glass panels - the first wink fixing Laureen with public spaces. I love the shade of the wood used for flooring and furniture, it is very warm and welcoming and corresponds to the color at its best. The furniture is mainly vintage and retro-inspired, and it gives one style apartment. Fur covers furniture and a zebra print fug give that feeling of glam desirable space.
Bathroom with subway tiles and laboratory details, a Victorian wall clock in the library / TV room, a Swarovski crystal chandelier and a loft bedroom all -white hanging over the living space like a cloud. My favorite room is the bedroom with a declaration of beautiful gold metallic wall behind the unique graphic head and a beautiful crystal chandelier.
There are absurdly striking views of Table Mountain from the two terraces and soaring floor-to-ceiling windows.
Laureen wanted to remind the apartment of a hotel a little, so she took some photos for inspiration and added some elements in them; a steel bookcase with a ladder and a platform somewhat industrial but they do not interfere with the glam atmosphere of the interior.
The Trek style dining table by Gregor Jenkin reflects Afrikaans roots owners
The natural wood medicine cabinet echoed parquet floors honey
the steel library ladder is both functional and a signature piece, Victorian clock emphasizes the "public space" feel
main room is designed around the passion of Laureen for the period of the Bauhaus
