Contemporary Family House combined a series of rectangular volumes
This house is designed as a new contemporary family house replace an existing bungalow on 400 square meters site. It is located in Ulcombe, Kent. The building process has been optimized as far as possible by prefabrication of many elements. Green technology has been used as much as possible in a series of rectangular volumes on two levels around a courtyard shielded. Cross laminated solid wood panels form the volumes and finished with wood panels and slatted windows. Wooden panels cover as many interior walls and have a waxed finish. Two levels of the house are connected by a spiral staircase against-plated. There is also an indoor pool and a double garage on the site. [Eldridge Smerin]
