Charming Mountain Retreat without electricity or phone
This mountain retreat has been restored from a hut rustic shepherd, once used to make cheese. The refuge is located in the region of volcanic Cantal Massif Central, France. Austrian Frederick Pfeffer restored the place with the help of local artisans and craftsmen using simple, natural materials. The atmosphere is very romantic and old: no electricity, fire wood stove keeps the place warm and candles are used for lighting at night. Benches made by local craftsmen based coatings felt attached with leather ties. simple wooden hand made furniture and horsehair cushions that double as beds if required. The kitchen and shower are located downstairs. The water comes from a nearby spring. I can not imagine a place that would be far from civilization and more charming at the same time.
