The Nexus cool modern house was built in a historic residential neighborhood Madison, the capital of Wisconsin, by Johnsen Schmaling Architects. The architecture is unusual because it is organized in two parts. One is a two-story brick block which has been partially dug into the slope and the other is a cedar covered linear volume. Public spaces are situated in the part of bricks, while the private part are in the cedar. The interior is quite simple, minimalist and dramatic effect is based on the contrast like white walls and floor with furniture and dark accents and vice versa. giant windows and transparent walls are domestic merge with nature and add green inside.
