Two-Level Apartment With Walls and Doors Minimal
Cubby House is a two-story apartment overlooking a public swimming pool Fitzroy, Melbourne, designed by Edwards Moore. The whole concept was to create a continuous space for living rather than regularly divided rooms and floors. Accordingly, the apartment has minimal doors and walls, and lots of reflective surfaces. The lower level has a kitchen, ample storage for books and a semi-enclosed balcony that performs as part of the living space. The upper level consists of private spaces like the bedroom and master bathroom. Besides there is a space for guest room that also acts as a small study.
The natural palette was chosen for the interior to create a sense of comfort. Reclaimed limed wood, OSB, sisal, vic ash and white concrete floor seem very well together.
