Tiny apartment renovation on a modest budget
Clare Cousins Architects renovated this small apartment on a modest budget for a youth culture family in Melbourne. The new floor plan maximizes social areas and minimizes sleeping areas through the creation of "micro" rooms that fit a single bed. Sliding doors can be pulled closed for privacy or openness to expand the visual space. To enhance the illusion of space, the architect raised the ceiling and installed window treatments that let in lots of light. Carefully chosen furniture and accessories make every square foot count. Keep bare white walls also helped mainly the apartment feel less cramped. whimsical accents fishing favorably play against pine floors and plywood carpentry
