Small Stone Cottage Reminding Of The Hobbit
This cottage 500 square feet in Golden, Colorado, said the hobbits for me . Its design was a collaboration between the owners and Peter Boes RTK Architects. The interior is simply an open room with a bathroom hidden behind the fireplace and a mezzanine above. As there is a lack of space, the owners came up with a vine scale as next to the stone fireplace that leads to a loft for guests. The ceiling trusses were made of longleaf yellow pine recovered from a civil war munitions factory of the time in Louisiana. The same wood was used on the wooden floors as well. The walls are whitewashed new hemlock. Welcome to the fairy tale
