Modern Home Extension With Eye-Catchy Decor
Nestled above Silicon Valley, the prohibition House Shou Sugi was a project which was a major remodel and addition to an existing modern home. At the head of the project was Schwartz and Architecture, who were inspired by the images and the surrounding textures, like rocks, bark and leaves. A two-storey addition was designed and dressed in traditional Japanese Shou Sugi Ban, who burned wood siding, and the Japanese indices were added to the interior. The extension houses a new guest suite on the top floor with a family room below. The new family room overlooks the surrounding greenery through the floor to ceiling windows. A floating open staircase connects the family room to the guest suite above. The designers used a simple but genius solution to the not bulky kitchen and bring light into: do not use the cabinets, they went for thin and integrated appliances ups. The overall decor is modern and eye-catching: laconic designs are original made with fresh texture sets. Natural textures were an important part of the renovation with the hope of connecting to the natural environment. Wood, leather, metal and other materials add a touch of luxury to the seemingly simple decoration. I love modern natural stairs and dark wood, it looks very airy thanks to the support triangle of metal tighten. The large glass area connects the extension outside, magnificent views and lets light. The extension is modern, stylish and has some Japanese aesthetics, terse, simple but timeless and chic.
