one of the highlights of Zona Tortona this year, was a small space called Craft, designed by Stellar Works creative directors Lyndon Neri and Rossana Hu of Neri & Hu to present their latest collections for the brand alongside other designers. It was a comfortable space that felt very intimate after a week exploring the great exhibitions.
Their wooden Ming Collection of stackable chairs and tables aluminum draws inspiration from the history of the decorative arts in China, yet by combining their ornaments back Neri & Hu have created something very contemporary.
The James collection by Yabu Pushelberg includes a chair (above), a desk, a stool and a cart bar, was inspired by performance cars - the references that can be seen not only in the shapes of parts, but also in the materials used: metal black walnut and matt leather. "Is it underestimated exploration of modern masculinity - both bold and defined, but also light and elegant," said a press Stellar Works. "All four rooms have been designed to transform the negative space in an aesthetic function, which makes the use of aircraft and wireframes to lend an air of sleekness and simplicity of floating."
The rén collection of tables and chairs in the Copenhagen area stained ash came out of a desire to create a series in the Danish Modern tradition, incorporating techniques crafts from the traditions of Japan and China - resulting in a collection that is impossible to identify at once. or location
As its name suggests, the collection of the utility, which includes a sofa (above), chairs, stools and stools, is designed for functionality - combining practical comfort and luxury twist on industrial design.
the double meaning of the French word "room", which means both "piece" and especially "room" (it can also mean the house or compartment) Neri & Hu inspired to create a room bed like that provides a place to sleep, but also some of the functions normally provided by the widest part - a fabric headboard covered is higher than usual and wraps around the sleeper to create a sense of an enclosed space and a continuous guide rail provides a place to hang items, including suspended tables attached to each side.
Bund president (see above with the coffee table of the utility) was originally designed for the renovation of Jean George restaurant, a French restaurant on the Bund waterfront in Shanghai - one of the most recognizable parts of the Chinese city, who rose to fame in the 1920s roaring. The interior of the restaurant was a celebration of that time. "Chair design inspiration is a graceful modern articulation of the memory of the art deco post-colonial history of the Bund," said a press Stellar Works. "The Bund President offers a generous proportion and classic form, which French elegance meets a single Shanghai dynamism. "
the utility collection also includes mirrors, tables and chairs, all with the same luxury-industrial juxtaposition. "the result is a set of elegant and versatile pieces that fit perfectly and elegantly into any environment, upscale hospitality to residential projects," said Stellar Works.
