House with an open plan around a central living space
Located in Seattle, Washington, 5100 square feet house is designed to maximize the relationship with the lake through the section and the volume of exploration. It has an open plan around a living space that provides a visual connection to adjacent spaces while maintaining privacy within. To complete the site and ensure the balance between structure and landscape, the main living areas were reduced to four feet above lake level, which makes it a lower profile. From inlet views from the house through it reveals the lake beyond which appears to be on the same level. The are two courses: one near the public entrance and another in private lakefront. The highest volume is used to bring privacy for outdoor living by the lake to protect it from the neighboring property. [SkB Architects]
