Contemporary Dark Glass House with City Skyline Views
Designed by Brian Bell and David Yocum the Glass House is located in Ansley a neighborhood of the historic city center, with a canopy of mature trees and a direct view of the panorama of the city immediately. The project replaces a series of additions to a house in 1910 at the time with a new living space coated glass, including a garage, kitchen, family room, library and a new staircase connecting the three levels. The main theme of the color is very dark and moody, but many glass walls provide enough natural light inside. They also help capture views of Cityline almost all places throughout the house. The interesting part of the intrior is a central staircase. The staircase with no visible silt suspended in the adjacent structure and overhead, as well as superior rooms are cantilevered and suspended over the lower ones. The spatial arrangement of home additions is a striking contrast to the historic part of the house and the neighbor and only glass separates them from each other. [BLDGS]
