TYIN Tegnestue is a group of student architects who designed Soe Ker Tie Hias project in Noh Bo, Tak, Thailand. The translation of the project name is "butterfly houses". The project includes 6 small prefabricated houses ironwood (tropic wood). These houses offer accommodation for 50 children in the region. The project got its name because the design of the flip-up house roof which allows effective natural ventilation while collecting rainwater for reuse. All the houses are prefabricated and assembled on site, using bolts to ensure accuracy and reasonable force . the project was completed in February 09 and to become a great experience for both students and for the people who contributed to the construction. the important principles like bracing, material economization and moisture prevention has been learned can eventually lead to a more sustainable building tradition in the future.
