Asian Inspired House with Great indoor-outdoor relationship
Birnam Wood Residence in Santa Barbara, California, is a design that was born as a combined vision of the architect and the client live in a village. It is inspired by travel to Asia and personal ties with Asian culture. A series of pavilions that form the house also give the opportunity to the great indoor-outdoor relationship. 5400 square feet are covered by these pavilions. The gardens and pond become an inseparable part of this house and function as an extension of their living space. The entire functions of the house as an interactive work of art, featuring art collected on travel, and reflecting customer desire to live in a sculpture. [Berkus Design Studio]
