Storage house with Clever Books
Kitchel residence is designed by Boora Architects and located northwest of Portland, Oregon . It is placed on the hills and surrounded by a forest sensitive to the environment. boomerang shape of the house and the folded geometry aligns with the topography that produces a dynamic special quality and admits daylight. While the design of the house, the goal was to create a quiet place that maintain openness while preserving privacy. In the result of a 825 square feet room has been created, which includes a kitchen, a dining room and lounge on the lower floor. A bedroom and office perch above a profiled dramatically, sparsely decorated loft. At 38 feet long, two shelf levels filled with a prodigious collection of tomes winds along the inner surface of the wall, connecting the office to bedroom along a corridor hovering. This solution does not take much space or spoil the aesthetics of the interior, but store huge amount of books. The extensive glazing contributes to the open, spacious feel of the house, while forest cover provides privacy living spaces. [BOORA Architects]
