Design House facing the river - Kayak House
The Kayak house is designed by Ogrydziak / Prillinger Architects on 4, 5-acre site on the south Fork of the American River. It overlooks one of the best racing kayak in northern California so no wonder that homeowners are also kayakers. The house is built too close to the river, it is possible. It is divided into two parts. On the side of the river, there is a dramatic slope towards the water and save the foothills across the river. This side is public because there is always a lot of kayakers to drift past. Away from the river, the site is completely private, with a level prairie extending several miles in the early foothills. In addition to its fundamental orientation towards the river, several other details emphasize the kayak theme of the house.
