A log cabin is a popular type of home today, builds wood and decorated in a simple style, it is an ideal holiday home or just a home for hiking and outdoor lover person. Building a budget is pretty nice to so many people choose this type of homes today, especially for wood and mountains.
The cabins are usually small, simple and natural, not high or wide, but the one today has a character. Omar Gandhi Architect Inc., who worked in collaboration with Design Base 8, Rabbit Snare designed Gorge, a cabin in Nova Scotia, Canada. The owner is an outdoor enthusiast who wanted to respect the land, so that the structure was built higher helping to minimize the footprint of the house. The high nature of the design also allows a better view, and it looks very catchy to the earth.
To fight against heavy rain, Nor'easters winter and strong winds, the structural system was built to withstand major side and lifting loads. Layered sheath also helps with the strong winds.
The open interior retains the narrow footprint to feel too small. A double height ceiling in the kitchen and the living room are the second floor, which leads to the mezzanine lounge of the above, while the ground floor houses the bedrooms and entrance. I totally love the large windows, which perhaps is not, but energy efficiency connects outside and inside so.
The interior is kept simple with light wood and white surfaces, which are typical for a wooden cabin, leaving the natural landscape outside the large windows the focal point. There is just an accent - a fat green sofa, reminding the grass in the spring, and the sofa is in front of the windows to let the owners enjoy the view. The lamps are a simple industrial, suspended long black cords of the above, and also the interior very high and not small look. wood color and white light visually expand the narrow space.
There is a large balcony with glass rails, giving great views and is amazing to have outdoor dining when weather permits.
The tower cab is a completely unique building that is seen far and it really is a fantastic self-expression of the owner who loves nature.
