Halbhaus: 17th Century Alpine Chalet Modest Makeover
Halbhaus is a Swiss chalet wood-frame 17th century building in the historic Swiss mountain village of Andermatt. Halbhaus ( "half-house 'in German) originally stood next to a house that was his mirror image, but was lost in a fire decades ago. The heart of the house is a double-height kitchen and lounge. Whitewashed wood paneling and flooring contrasts with the dark custom kitchen and gray plaster walls. The chalet furnishings are a mixture of new and old, and include several parts, such as the dining table and chairs, passed from the former owner; the floor is original throughout. Even if a bit spartan inside, the cabin is a great space for relaxing
